From 1 July 2013 the high income threshold increases to $129,300
Why is the high income threshold important?
The high income threshold is one of the few exemptions that a person can use who is over the age of 50 applying for employer sponsored permanent residency. The Age Requirement under the ENS and RSMS require applicants to be under the age of 50 years. Age exemptions are available for persons who are :
- nominated as a scientist, researcher or technical specialist by an Australian Government agency
- nominated as a Minister of Religion by a religious institution
- nominated as a Medical Practitioner
- applying through the Temporary Residence Transition stream, have worked for their nominating employer on a subclass 457 visa for the last four years and whose earnings were at least equivalent to the High Income Threshold for each year over that period. Currently this is $129,300 as at 1 July 2013 (previously $123,300).
