On 16 August 2019, a team of Timor-Leste nationals arrived in Perth for 14-days on-the-job training with Perdaman Global Services. The objective of the trip was to gain valuable insight and understanding of western administrative processes and to understand the process involved in making visa applications, understanding the full recruitment process, passport applications and office administration structure.
The team of six young men and women completed the training program and will now assist the people of Timor-Leste in gaining meaningful employment, by helping job-seekers understand and better explain their existing skills they have gained and also recognise what additional skills they may need to learn to ensure each individual is ready for the right job, either in Timor-Leste or overseas. This program aims at supporting the economic and social prosperity of Timor-Leste by skilling its people.
The team will also participate in the process of “Recognition of Prior Learning” (RPL). This is becoming highly regarded in the process of world-wide visa applications. Across the globe, there is an increasing acceptance of our life experiences and it is only reasonable that the years of hands-on practical experiences gained should be acknowledged as being valuable when recognising an individual’s learning credentials.
This traineeship program is an initiative of the Timor-Leste Government and the program aims at supporting the economic and social prosperity of Timor-Leste by skilling its people.
Perdaman thanks our partner ISAT for engaging our services to provide this training to the Timor – Leste trainees and we look forward to watching their contribution back into the business community in Dili.
